It's found in the lowlands of El Mezquital and throughout western Durango. It was transported to San Nicolás de Acevedo for ancestral distillation techniques. This small maguey is wild and very scarce, it has long but very narrow green leaves. It's 1 to 1.3m. in diameter and 0.8m. tall, delivering pineapples that weigh only 40kg. on average.
Tasting Notes:
Aroma and Palate: Full sweetness. Cotton candy on the nose and tongue.
Finish: Mild heat and pleasant medium finish.
Maguey: Tepemete: 8-10 years. (Angustifolia)
